Our Flick Sticks — affectionately known as Misery Sticks for their signature sting — are an excellent addition to your rope play. Their small size makes them one of the most versatile impact implements out there: precise, easy to control, and discreet enough to use in a wide variety of settings.

Available in three strengths:

Mild — a gentle introduction

Spicy — a proper bite

Hot — not for the faint-hearted

All sticks measure 300mm cm in total (handle: 80mm, flick: 220mm).

What's the difference between Mild, Spicy and Hot?

The three intensities vary in how much sting they deliver — Mild is a gentle, beginner-friendly introduction; Spicy has a proper bite; Hot is for experienced players who know they like sharp sensation. If you're new to impact play or buying for a partner whose tastes you're still mapping, start with Mild. You can always escalate; you can't un-ring the bell.

Is this a stingy or thuddy implement?

Firmly stingy. The Flick Stick's slim profile delivers sharp, precise, surface-level sensation — the "misery stick" nickname is earned. If your partner prefers deep, thuddy impact (think paddles and heavy floggers), this is a very different experience, so negotiate accordingly.

Where on the body can I use it?

Anywhere you want! If you're new to play, start with fleshy, muscled areas: buttocks, backs of thighs, and the meaty part of the shoulders. Thin implements like this concentrate force in a small area, so precision matters — one of its strengths, but also why you should build up gradually and check in often.

Will it leave marks?

It can, yes — stingy implements like this are known for leaving thin, linear marks or welts, especially at Spicy and Hot intensity. How much depends on the person, intensity, and duration. If marks are a concern (or a goal!), discuss it beforehand as part of your negotiation.

Is it suitable for beginners?

The Mild version, used thoughtfully, yes. The stick is small, light, and easy to control — you can moderate intensity easily with your wrist. As with all impact play: start light, warm up the area, check in with your partner, and agree signals before you begin.

How do I clean and store it?

Wipe down with a damp cloth or toy-cleaner wipe after use, especially if it's contacted intimate places, and dry before storing. Store it flat or hanging — avoid leaving it bent or under pressure, which could deform the flick over time.
